Volve Field Analysis.
An interactive reservoir diagnostics dashboard built on Equinor's open Volve dataset: 15,634 daily production records across 7 wellbores, spanning September 2007 to December 2016.
Hosted on Streamlit Cloud. The app sleeps when idle, so first load can take around 30 seconds.
The Objective
Working from Equinor's publicly released Volve production data, I set out to turn a static spreadsheet of daily well measurements into a diagnostics platform a reservoir engineer could interrogate: when the water front arrived, whether injection kept pace with voidage, which wells carried the field, and how injectors and producers communicate underground.
From Notebook to Platform
The project began as an exploratory Jupyter analysis in Matplotlib and Seaborn. I then rebuilt it as a Streamlit application with Plotly, making every figure interactive: date-range filtering, daily or monthly resolution, per-well drill-downs and cross-well comparison. Key markers are computed from the data rather than drawn by hand, such as water breakthrough, flagged automatically on the first date water production exceeds oil.
The Interpretation Layer
Charts alone are not an analysis, so each section pairs its figure with a written reservoir-engineering read: the flat GOR trend confirming pressure held above bubble point, VRR tracked against the 1.0 target with surplus and deficit shading, Leucuta displacement curves separating piston-like sweep from channelling, and injector-producer correlations quantifying reservoir connectivity.
